Our story
KM Horseboxes was established in 1989 in Folkestone, Kent. The founder, Mick Leadsham, had success initially with the KM Newcomer and County models. During this time the company quickly outgrew its original premises and relocated to Ashford to meet increasing order demands, before eventually returning to a new, larger facility in Folkestone.
2007 saw the introduction of the Arion, replacing the County model and Mick’s son, Jamie, joined bringing a new enthusiasm and pushing build boundaries, seeing the business go from strength to strength, building high-quality horseboxes to rival our competitors. KM Horseboxes expanded once again in 2012, allowing for simultaneous construction of three horseboxes and establishing a dedicated spray and refinishing department.
The Sentinel was introduced in 2014 and more recently our top of the range SE Edition was added in 2024.
2025, saw Jamie take the company over and with a dedicated and hardworking team, who have over 90 years of combined horsebox building experience, including fabricators, coach builders, refinishers, cabinet makers, and glass-fibre craftsmen, ensure a professionally built product.
In 2025, KM Horseboxes Australia was launched to introduce a new benchmark in Australian horse trucks. Combining proven European engineering with local expertise, we deliver premium horse transport solutions designed for Australian roads, Australian conditions, and the demands of modern equestrians.
